We are able to provide 2 main types of lawn feed programmes which consist of Spring/Summer feeds and Autumn/Winter feeds. Each programme has a combination of both grain and liquid based fertilizer to tackle specific requirements depending on the lawn conditions (moss, disease, weeds etc.).
Early Spring & Late Summer Feeds
The Early Summer treatment helps your lawn to grow in a strong and healthy way as the temperature rises. The nutrient feed applied is coated to protect the lawn - the process of slow release allows it to work for up to 10 weeks. This feed strengthens the grass, thickens the sward and ensures a vibrant colour. The feed is a unique blend of a polymer coated fertiliser and naturally sourced mineral, designed to reduce scorch; it is a truly beneficial feed for the grass. Its formula breaks down like this:
Late Summer Feeds act similar to the early spring by coating the nutrient feed to slowly realise and feeds the grass plant, however it contains some herbicide to target any unwanted weeds that crept during summer period. Watering is vital if no rainfall to release the nutrient into the soil.
Autumn/Winter Feeds
The autumn and winter climate will eventually slow or stop the grass growing, so this micronutrient treatment is different in that it doesn't encourage growth but Instead, it's designed to stimulate chlorophyll activity for a stronger, more robust lawn that's better able to cope with the rigours of winter.
The treatment dehydrates any moss that may have built up, helping to control it by slowing down its activity. By keeping the moss spores to a low level, it also prepares your lawn for any mechanical work such as scarifying.
Scarification
Scarification is the name given to the mechanical means of removing surface thatch that has built up over the year, thereby enabling air flow, nutrients and moisture to reach the root zone. This results in healthier grass which is less prone to fungal attack.
The typical process of scarifying begins with spraying the lawn with a moss specific spray which only targets moss to kill it. Typically the spray acts within a week leaving the infected are with dark/brown coloured path where the moss has been accumulating (typically over autumn/Winter season).
Once the spray has acted the next step will be to scarify the lawn and collect all of the thatch and dear moss. One final lawn food and moss killer will be applied 1 week after scarifying the lawn.
